0.75 cup Split Green Gram (Mung Dal) Dry1 cup, chopped Onions, raw 1 medium whole Tomato chopped1/2 " Ginger Root chopped or grated.25 tsp Chili powder .20 tbsp Feel Good Organics Turmeric Powder3 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap 1 dash Salt TEMPERING SPICES1 tsp Cumin seed 3 clove Garlic chopped.5 tsp Garam Masala Indian Spice Mix.25 tsp Chili powder 1 -2 Jalapeno Peppers sliced2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil 0.2 tsp asafoetida (hing) (by SHIRHPP)
add first 7 ingredients to a pot and cook for about 30 minutes or until dal is done.
Tempering: heat oil in a frying pan then add the cumin fry for a minute add the chopped garlic ,and sliced jalapeno fry an aditional minutes do not burn the garlic, remove from heat, add garam masala, chilipowder and asafoetida,stir then add this to the cooked dal and serve ,as a side or with just some naan.
Serving Size: makes 4 servings @ 1cup.
