Georgian beef patties

Ingredients
250 g unseasoned breadcrumbs (~2 1/2 c.)2 eggs1 1/2 onions, finely diced2 Tbl tomato paste2 cloves garlic, minced1 tsp coriander1 tsp blue fenugreek2 tsp paprika2 tsp of dry berberis berries2 tsp salt2 lbs ground beef1 cup cornstarchCanola oil
Directions
Mix breadcrumbs with enough water to moisten (they should be soft but not soggy/wet). Let sit for ~5 minutes to hydrate while you dice the onion. Mix egg, onion, tomato paste, garlic, and spices into the breadcrumb mixture. Gently mix in ground beef until well-combined.

Pre-heat oil in a large frying pan--the oil should form a generous coating on the entire bottom of the pan. Form beef mixture into 8 patties. Dredge each patty in cornstarch. Pan-fry the patties over medium heat for ~7 minutes per side, or until a nice crust has formed and they are cooked through.
