878 gram(s) Beans, Canned, Pinto, Great Value (2-cans) (1/2c=128g=3.5 per 15.5oz can) (by MZTRACY) 2.25 cup Brown Rice, medium grain, pre-cooked1 cup, chopped Onions, raw 2 clove Garlic 1 tsp chilli powder (by CYMRUGIRL1) 1 tsp Cumin seed (ground cumin if desired)1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
drain beans, keep liquid reserved
saute onion in sauce pan
add garlic saute briefly
add both cans of beans
pre-heat rice in microwave and add to sauce pan
add reserved bean liquid to desired consistency
allow to heat up on simmer

Sounds great. Not sure about preheating the rice part. Are you using precooked/leftover - 10/23/19

Yes, the rice needs to be pre-cooked, as the recipe does not account for the additional water dry rice would need. I do usually use left over cooked brown rice. Thanks for commenting. I made edits to the recipe to make it more clear.
