TJ's Split Pea and Ham Soup

Ingredients
454 gram(s) green split peas .25 cup, chopped Onions, raw 1 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" lon Celery, raw 1 clove Garlic 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil 339 grams Ham, regular (11% fat) 1 tsp Better Than Bouillon (Chicken) (by RAMARAMA)
Directions
Cook dried peas in 4 cups water. While peas simmer, heat oil and add vegetables and chopped ham, cook until onions are tender, add water and bouillon and bring to a boil, cook for 1 minute, then add to peas. Cover and simmer until peas are tender adding more water as needed. Season with black pepper if desired.
