Green Bell Pepper2.0 clove Garlic0.5 cup (8 fl oz) Chicken Broth16.0 oz Ground beef, lean1.0 tsp Salt2.0 tsp, crumbled Bay Leaf0.5 tsp Thyme, ground0.25 tsp Oregano, ground0.5 tsp Cinnamon, ground0.5 tsp Nutmeg, ground1.0 can (6 oz) Tomato Paste12.0 tsp Raw Sugar - Sugar in the Raw
Directions
Directions In a large pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, stir until translucent. Mix in the meat and cook until browned. Add the salt, pepper, bay leaves, thyme, oregano, cinnamon, and nutmeg and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. While the meat is cooking, add the tomatoes, carrot, bell pepper, and garlic to a food processor or blender. (If using a blender, add the chicken broth). Blend until liquefied. Add the tomato blend, tomato paste, and sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, to keep the sauce from sticking to the bottom of the pan, until the sauce is thickened and flavorful, about 1 1/2 hours. Serve sauce on top of spaghetti or other pasta. Optional: top with Creamy Ricotta Sauce
