Grandma Judy's (Veganized) Lava Cake

1 cup all-purpose flour3/4 cup granulated white sugar6 tbsp cocoa, divided 2 tsp baking powder1/2 cup unsweetened/unflavored almond milk (or any milk alternative)2 tbsp canola oil1 tsp imitation vanilla extract1 cup, packed brown sugar1 3/4 cup HOT water
Preheat oven to 350°.
Combine flour, white sugar, 2 tbsp cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Stir in milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth. Spread in ungreased square 8x8 pan. In separate bowl combine brown sugar with remaining 4 tbsps cocoa, sprinkle mixture over cake batter.
Pour 1 3/4 hot water over cake
DO NOT STIR THE WATER IN I REPEAT DO NOT STIR IN THE WATER.
This is where the magic happens.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, serve warm from the oven with your favorite ice cream!
