Egg-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
1 1/8 c. all purpose flour1 1/8 c. stone ground whole wheat flour1 tsp. baking soda1 tsp. salt1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter1/4 c. granulated sugar1/4 c. light brown sugar1/2 c. honey1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce1 tsp. pure vanilla extract12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Set oven to 375 degrees
Makes 43 cookies
1. Combine flours, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
2. Mix all other ingredients (not choc. chips) in a large bowl using an electric mixer.
3. Slowly add the flour mix to the wet mix.
4. Stir in the chocolate chips.
5. Bake each batch for 7 1/2 to 8 minutes.
The unbaked cookie dough will taste like applesauce. Once baked, the taste is hidden.

    These turned out great. I used homemade applesauce and all whole wheat flour, and also left out the honey as it really isn't needed. And I didn't have any! Will make these again. - 10/6/10
