Classic Greek Salad

4 ripe firm tomatoes, cut into wedges 2 cucumbers, seeded and thickly sliced 1/4 onion, thinly sliced 1 medium hot-banana pepper, seeded and thinly sliced 1 cup Feta cheese 1 tbsp dried oregano 1/2 cup extra-virgin Greek olive oil
1. In a bowl, combine the tomato wedges, cucumber, onion and pepper.
2. When ready to serve, place cheese on top of salad, sprinkle with oregano and drizzle with olive oil.
3. Toss salad to break cheese up slightly.
4. Garnish with lemon wedges, if desired, and serve.

Actually it isn't as much fat as it looks like, because the nutritional information is counting the WHOLE salad as one serving when it should be 4 servings. So the actual fat is 1/4 what is listed. Besides it's *good* fat! - 1/16/09

wow thanks! I don't think that it actually has that amount of calories and fat in it. But they are counting it wrongly. And it is supposed to be only 250 calories but the calculations got messed up. And I have already tried it and you can make substitutions and stufff to reduce the amount of calorie

I didn't look at the fat when i did it. But you can substitute the cheese low fat cheese.
