Mashed Cauliflower

1 head cauliflower, in florets1/3 cup half-and-half1 tbsp cornstarch3/4 cup water1 tsp sugar1/8 tsp garlic powder1/4 tsp white pepper
Prepare head of cauliflower into florets, steam for 15-20 minutes. Toss into ice water until cooled, then mash with potato masher (or in food processor with 1/2 cup water) until pureed with small pieces.
Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup warm water.
Pour puree into saucepan, add cornstarch mix, half and half, and spices. Cook for 5-15 minutes until thickened, stirring frequently. Serves 4-6.
