Chicken barley soup

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds chicken breast 2 cloves garlic1 48 oz. can chicken broth 1 lb. carrots3 TBS jarred chicken bouillion1 48 oz. can water 1 TBS thyme8 oz. mushrooms canned or fresh2 bay leaves 1 TBS tumeric1 cup uncooked barley 1 big celery rib3 cloves garlc 2 tbs. olive oil1 medium to large onion
Directions
Makes 12 o ouz serviings. Cut chicken into desired pieces, fry in bit of oil and put aside when done. Add the minced onion to olive oil along with celery. Cook for a few minutes then add carrots. Add broth, water and bouillion. Add bay leaves and garlic. Cook for about 10 minutes then add barley and cook for 45 minutes. Add chicken and spices, warm and serve. A bit of sherry might be added as well as some cream which I don't use either one.
