Beans, navy, 2 cup Water, tap, 12 cup (8 fl oz) Ham, extra lean, (5% fat), 2 cup, diced Mashed Potatoes, 2.5 cup Salt, 2 tsp Pepper, black, .25 tsp Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped Celery, cooked, 2 stalks Garlic, 1 clove
In a large pot heat beans and water to boiling or if you have broth left from a boiled ham dinner use that. Cook for 2 minutes uncovered, remove from heat and cover and let stand for 1 hour.
Add ham bone or diced ham heat to boiling reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 2 hours or until beans are tender stir in remaining ingredients, Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Remove ham bone if that is what you used. Cut the ham into bite size pieces and stir into soup.
Makes 14 servings.1 cup size.
