heart healthy oatmeal oat bran cereal

Ingredients
Directions
1/3 cup Irish oatmeal or old fashioned slow cooking oatmeal2 Tbs oat bran1 1/2 cups water1 large banana1/2 cup soy milk ( or low fat milk)2 tbs flax seed freshly ground1/4 tsp cinnamonsweetner of choice
add oat meal, oat bran, water and sliced banana to the top of a double boiler. Stir well now and during cooking.
Cook over boiling water until thick and bubbly.
Add soy milk (or Milk)
Stir until thickens
Add fresh ground flax seed ( a coffee grinder does a great job. Or if you rather you can buy flax meal. Remember to store this in the freezer.)
Take off heat and stir until thick.
Add cinamon ( amount is up to you)
add sweetner of choice
Note You can substitue banana for any dried or fresh fruit of your choice.
