Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients
3-4 Medium Apples cored and chopped up2 tsp lemon juice1 cup water3/4 Cup sugar3T cornstarch1/2 tsp Cinnamon1/2 tsp salt1/4 tsp nutmeg
Directions
1. core and chop up the apples

2. place apples in a bowl and mix with the lemon juice

3. in a medium saucepan whisk together the remaining ingredients.

4. Bring mixture to a boil

5. Add the apples

6. reduce heat and cook until apples are tender about 8 minutes.

Makes about 2 1/2 Cups of filling

    This was little too sweet for me so I decreased the sugar. I think it would be better with tart apples. I made a bunch and canned it up for gifts! It worked GREAT for canning! - 7/8/09
