I used a #40 scoop and got 29 cookies out of the batch. Will look for a smaller scoop. I didn't flatten these out so they were like brownies in texture. Some of the cookies I topped with a walnut piece. - 5/6/09

I'm just curious, what is a serving size? One cookie? Two? Ten? :) - 11/3/08

These were very good. I replaced half of the flour with oat bran and added 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips. I also used whole wheat flour. - 10/29/08

To reduce the amount of sugar we used the splenda/brown sugar mix. The splenda/brown sugar mix subs one cup of brown sugar. It' great, almost like the love child of a cookie and a brownie! :) - 11/3/08

As another user said, they taste like a mix of a brownie and a cookie.

I screwed up baking these and accidentally added baking powder as well as baking soda. My boys still liked them, but they aren't too fussy:)

That being said, it is worth trying them again with the proper ingredients as they had a good taste to them. - 3/15/09

What a beautiful recipe, didn’t have enough cocoa powder, so added 1/4 chocolate chips, also added 1/8 tsp habanero Chili, great,. Made exactly 36 cookies, next time I will flatten them out a little. - 2/21/20

Brilliant recipe, makes a delicious dark-chocolatey dough. Threw in some dried cranberries & white chocolate chips and could not get enough! Also didn't flatten them and had difficulty waiting for them to cool enough to safely get off the baking sheet. - 11/24/13

I halved the recipe but I think I may have used too much flour. They're a bit crumbly.

    Still taste amazing though. :-) - 2/26/13
