Peel apples and pears. Chop them up into desired size (the smaller they are, the faster it cooks!). Add to crockpot, along with 1.5 cups of water, 1/2 cup splenda, 1 tbsp cinnamon, and 1 tsp of nutmeg. I also add a dab of vanilla to give it an extra splash of flavor! stir in crock pot and set on high. Cook for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. When apples and pears are mushy, it is finished cooking. Now you can either mash it all together, leave it as is, or put it in the blender to make it REAL applesauce! Serve hot or cold! Makes about 10-12 1/2 cup servings.
