Donna's Awesome Corn chowder

Ingredients
2 T butter1 Med. large onion, chopped4 med. potatoes, diced1 tsp salt1/2 tsp pepper1 bay leaf2 tsp Bells Seasoning2 tsp Basil1 can evaporated milk1 c. water1 can creamed corn
Directions
Saute onion and potatoes in butter about 5 min. Add seasoning cook 1 min. more. Add remaining ingredients and bring just to boil over med. high heat, stirring occasionally. Turn heat to just below med so that ,with cover tipped, it will slowly just bubble for 15 min. or till potatoes are soft. Put on Lo and let sit 20 min. Adjust seasoning. This is so thick and tastey, you won't believe there's no cream!!
