i made this soup last night and had to come on today to rate it. its great! we will definately be making this again. I added a can of rotells tomatoes with green chillies and diced up boneless chicken to it. I also added more broth for more servings. This soup needs no extra seasoning Thanks! - 2/20/09

Good and filling! Did not have the flavoured black beans so added some tobasco and lime juice! Nice addition. Measured out before serving and it made 9 1/4 cups! So 1 serving is just shy of a cup! Also served with a dollop of fat free sour cream. - 1/21/08

I re-entered in the recipe calculator for 4 servings at 238 calories. I mixed it up cold and divided evenly into containers for a quick grab & go lunch. I used Mild Rotel. Next time I will look for low sodium products. - 1/20/11

I JUST made this for lunch and WOW... what a wonderful surprise! I thought this was FANTASTIC! I used plain black beans, but I used spicy fat free refried beans...ooooohhhh, so good! Very filling, tasty, and will become a staple in my house! Thanks! - 1/19/10

This was a very good recipe! 2 points for WW people. I added some taco seasoning and a dallop of low fat sour cream so that would change the point value but this is excellent and so fast and easy! - 9/20/09

This recipe was really easy. I used frozen corn. I ate 3 ladels full4lunch today&felt satisfied. It's got a great flavor&isn't overpowering. I was surprised it was refried beans that made the soup thicker. I put all the ingredients in a crock pot4over 6 hours and nothing got soggy. YAY! Thank you! - 6/21/08

I'm not a big fan of soup but I love this! I did alter it a bit as well. I used Fat Free Chicken Broth and a few dashes of hot sauce, and I also sprinkle just a few shreds of low fat cheddar on it. My son loves it as well. Very filling and tasty. - 8/24/08

I love how easy this recipe is to make. It's healthy, tasty, and low-calorie too!!! Great combo, plus, it's fast!!! I made it during a football game and shared it with my dad. He loved it and wants the recipe! I substituted garbanzo beans for the black beans, since that was what I had. Very good! - 11/13/10

My daughter loved this dish, she doesn't like tomatoes but was able to get pass that! I added chicken, lime juice, green onions and cilantro along with the chilli peppers that came with the crushed tomatoes! I will mos def make this again, except with fresh ingredients - sodium makes you bloat! - 1/13/10

Yum! This is a new favorite. I added some sauteed onions, a bit of chili powder & cumin. I also used Rotel instead. I served alongside jalapeno cornbread and fresh veggies. This is a hearty soup and especially good for cold winter nights. - 1/12/11
