A tablespoon of maple syrup is 52 calories. Divide this by 4 servings and it's an extra 13 calories and 3g carbs per serving. Use the real stuff, folks. It's better for you. - 6/15/13

This is excellent; I did mine in the slow cooker and doubled up on the spices and liquids and it was AMAZING! I had four total ribs in there and it was done in about five hours and low and was so tender it cut like butter with a fork. - 11/4/12

This was absolutely delicious, and the meat melt-in-your-mouth tender!! I cooked it in a 350 deg oven for 1 hr 20 mins. The meat fell off the bone. I'm making this again tonight!!! - 7/28/09

There is no such thing as sugar free maple syrup. It's all sugar. I think they meant sugar free (imitation maple) flavored syrup. they make a 50% less sugar and reduced sugar also. Try it with the real Mccoy! - 1/31/10

This recipe had great flavor but not too overpowering like some spices. The cinnamon and maple comes through for a very different but light taste. Recommend this to anyone that likes ribs but wants a new flavor. Everyone liked it and def a keeper. - 6/10/09

Made this tonight in the crockpot for 9 hours on Low and it fell right off the bone. Since I didn't have any Soy Sauce I substituted Teriyaki Sauce which gave it additional flavoring. - 4/28/12

I was expecting sticky-sweet ribs (BY LOOKING AT THE PICTURE), but these came out like lightly flavored meat, even after doubling the ingredients. My husband brushed them down with bbq sauce and put them under the broiler. They were way better our way. I felt this recipe is a waste of expensive ribs - 2/7/14

Tried this tonight. Hubby liked it a lot . I used boneless and did 350 for 120 min. Came out a little dry, But I forgot to adjust for the Boneless Ribs... Next time I will only cook 1.5 hours or make it in the crockpot.... - 10/14/13

Any ideas on what to use as a replacement for soy sauce? Has anyone tried these without the soy sauce period?

@Linderloos - You can put any meat in the crockpot frozen - just cook on high for 4-6hrs instead of low for 8. :) I ALWAYS cook my meat from frozen, it comes out crazy-tender every time! - 8/26/13

I really enjoyed these ribs. They are so tender after cooking in the slow cooker. I am still am getting used to not barbecue flavor to everything with lots of salt. - 6/1/13

You know what would be good with this pork? Ice cream. It tasted like pie. It wasn't bad, but it was weird. Too sweet for my taste. Next time I'll omit the maple syrup, or at least cut way back. - 2/8/14

This was very good and so simple! But I agree with the other comments; just go with the real maple syrup. Keep a sugar shack in business. LOL! - 10/14/13

My dad and mom would boil the ribs first before grilling on a charcoal grill. No such luxury now-a-day, but I might try this in my CP, or who knows (?) the oven I finally got. - 6/15/13

I just put it in the crockpot, smells delish!!! Added a little white wine, lemon juice, & rice vinegar. Also, I didn't have sugar free maple syrup so I used regular syrup and some maple extract!! I cant wait to try it later!! - 2/19/09

I made them in the crock pot and they were divine. Served this with some brown rice and a winter medley of veggies and this made a great dinner. - 2/13/19

This was very easy; however, I felt the need for a little bit of salt to bring out the sweet flavors - maybe 1/2 tea. at most. - 6/19/13
