Ingredients
Directions
1 6oz can tuna in water, drained1 T light mayonnaise1 oz cheddar cheese, shredded1 whole wheat pita pocket
Combine the tuna, mayo, and cheese. Mix until well combined.
Open the pita so you have a pocket.
Fill pita with tuna salad. Don't overfill.
Use an old waffle iron with a flat side griddle or a panini maker is the fastest method. Of course, you could use a regular pan over medium heat.
Spray both sides of the pita with cooking spray or alternatively, spread a thin layer of mayo or margarine on the pita.
Put in pan or waffle iron. If you're using the waffle iron method, feel free to smash a bit when you put the lid down. If you're using a pan, flip the pita over when it's golden brown on one side. Cook until golden brown on each side. Enjoy!
