Fresh & Easy Cherry Pie

Ingredients
Filling:4 cups cherries, rinsed and pitted3/4 cup sugar1/4 cup flour1/2 teaspoon cinnamonCrust:2 store-bought or homemade pie crustsStar-shaped cookie cutter
Directions
1. Place bottom crust in pie pan.

2. Mix ingredients for filling and add to pan.

3. Use star cookie cutter to cut out several stars out of top crust. Place stars on top of pie filling. Use fewer stars to save calories and carbs. (Note: nutrition facts are based on eating the full top pie crust.) Flute the edges of the top crust.

4. Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar.

5. Bake at 425*F for 25 minutes. Reduce heat
to 350*F and bake for 25-30 minutes more.

Prep time does not include the time it takes to pit the cherries or make a homemade pie crust.

    I no longer do crusts of any kind. I just do the cherry filling in a mug and cook it in the microwave. Lots less carbs and fats. And I keep on losing weight while having food fun. That works for me. - 7/1/15
