Brown Gravy

Ingredients
Directions
1 onion chopped5 1/2 cups water1/2 cup tamari1 cup whole wheat flour
Chop onion and saute in a little water till soft.
Add flour and whisk together, brown over med heat.
Mix the 5 1/2 cups of water with 1/2 cup tamari, add to onion mix, whisk together, bring to a boil and then reduce heat, let simmer till thick.
I like to transfer to blender to puree onion, then add back to pot and thicken more over heat.
Makes about 12 1/2 cup servings.
