Almond orange cake

Ingredients
* Almonds, 3/4 cup, ground 2 tblsp. Egg white * Powdered Sugar, 1/2 cup, unsifted * 3/4 tsp. almond extract1 tblsp. orange liqueur * Applesauce, unsweetened, 1/4 cup * Butter, unsalted, 1/4 cup * Granulated Sugar, 3/4 cup * Egg substitute, liquid (Egg Beaters), 1/2 cup * Egg, fresh, 1 large * *Flour, white, 1/3 cup * Baking Powder, 1/2 tsp * Salt, 1/4 tsp
Directions
Heat oven to 350. Lightly butter and flour an 8-inch cake pan.

Blend almond flour, egg whites, powdered sugar and 1/4 tsp. almond extract to form a paste.

Beat sugar, butter, and applesauce with an electric mixer until light. Add egg substitute and egg, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Blend in remaining almond extract and orange liqueur.

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to butter and almond mixture, stir to combine. Pour in pan and bake 30-35 minutes until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
