Mom's Apricot Christmas Cookies

Ingredients
1 Cup margerine or butter1/2 Cup Sugar1/2 Cup Light Corn Syrup1 t Salt1 t Vanilla1/2 Cup Pecans (finely chopped)3 1/2 Cups Flour1 Cup Colored Sugar1/4 Cup colored sugar - Preserve for later to roll dough in
Directions
Cream butter, sugar and corn syrup until light and fluffy
Stir in salt, vanilla, apricot preserves and pecans
Stir in flour (1/4 cup at a time)
Divide into 4 parts
Roll each part into a "log" shaped roll
Roll in colored sugar
Chill Well
Cut into slices
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 12-15 minutes
