Quick & Easy Brown Rice

Ingredients
2 cup long grain brown ricewater1T salt
Directions
rinse brown rice for 30 seconds in a strainer under warm running water; fill a large stockpot or pasta pot with water and salt; bring water to boil; add brown rice and stir once; boil uncovered for 30 minutes; drain and return to covered stockpot but remove from hot burner. Let rice sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Store leftover rice in the refrigerator for up to one week, and reheat, as needed.

    Checked this out due to oriental rice comment. Seems to me that tossing the water, you are loosing vitamins. When I cook brown rice, I use 1 cup rice to 1 1/2 cups water. Bring to boil, turn burner to lowest setting, cover, set timer for 30 minutes, turn burner off & let rest for 30 minutes. - 6/7/09

    I looked at your recipe as I saw your comment on the oriental rice recipe.... I'll try this out, as I don't even waste my time with white rice anymore, but often find if I'm not paying attention, I burn the bottom and run out of water!! Thanks for the post. I'll likely enjoy this variation. - 6/6/09
