Ingredients
Directions
1 lb. bag dried baby limas (white or green)2 onions (chopped)3 carrots (grated)3 celery stalks (finely chopped)1 lb. cooked ham, diced (I use a 97% fat free ham steak)2 qt. chicken broth (8 cups) - I use Swanson's Natural Goodness Chicken BrothSalt & Pepper to taste
Wash beans well; add water to cover beans well. Cook slowly with ham until beans are tender (about 1 hour). Add hot water as needed. Add vegetables, broth, and seasoning. Mix well and simmer until ready to serve. Freezes well.
**This is super when you add a handful or two or fresh spinach just before serving. Grated parmesan cheese is also a nice finish. Yummy served with a warm piece of a chewy bread loaf or roll. These additions are not included in the nutritional information.
Makes approximately 13 - 1 Cup servings.

I would never make this soup because of the 1,511.00 sodium count. Why is it so high - 1/8/09

I accidentally added too much salt to the nutrition content - sorry! I'll try to fix it! Thanks for catching that for me!
