Maple Cinnamon Mashed Sweet Potatos

2 large sweet potatos1 apple1 tsp salt2 cups water1 tbsp ground cinnamon1 tsp ground nutmeg1 tsp ground cloves1 pat butter4 tbsp calorie wise maple syrup
Peel and dice the sweet potatos and apple.
Add the salt, sweet potato and water into a pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, lower the temp to simmer and cover. Simmer until the sweet potatos are almost soft. Add the apples, mix through the sweet potatos and continue to simmer until the sweet potatos and apples are soft.
Drain off any water and place the sweet potatos into a bowl for mashing. Once they are mashed, add the spices, butter and syrup and mix fully.
Serve as a potato/vegetable side dish with some fresh ground pepper to most meats.
