Ingredients
1 pound ground beef12 oz macaroni1 tbsp unsalted margarine1 cup 1/2% milk1 tbsp flour1 cup chopped onion8 oz cheddar cheese, cubed
Directions
Prepare the macaroni as directed. Fry the hamburger with the onion. Drain well.
In a sauce pan (or casserole dish if yours will handle the stove top) melt the margarine over low heat. Mix in the flour to form a paste. Add the milk and stir well. Increase the heat a bit and add the cheese. The smaller you cut the cubes, the faster the cheese melts. When the cheese has melted, add the hamburger and drained macaroni to a covered casserole. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 45 minutes. Serves 6.

again, here is a recipe that is nonsencical. It mentions onion, but does not tell you what to do with them!. I improvised and came up with a good product. I don't htink it was a "diet" product, but whatever> - 1/15/09

The recipe calls for 1 cup chopped onions. It then directs you to fry them with the hamburger. The recipe isn't listed as low fat, but it is low sodium.

This sounds so yummy and easy to make. Its a little higher in calories than I would like but I could have a smaller portion and add a huge salad. It is a recipe that even the kids would love. Thanks. - 1/18/09
