Whole Wheat Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour1/2 teaspoon salt3/4 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon cinnamon1/4 cup butter, softened1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce1 cup Splenda brown sugar bend OR 1/2 cup Splenda and 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 egg1/4 cup water1 teaspoon vanilla extract3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray cookie sheets or use non-stick sheets. 2. Stir together the whole wheat flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda; set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, apple sauce and sugar/Splenda until light and fluffy. Stir in the egg, water and vanilla.
4. Mix in the flour mixture, then stir in the oats. 5/ Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 2 inches apart.
5. Bake for 8 minutes in the preheated oven or until just brown on the edges. Splenda browns faster than sugar does.
6. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.

Makes 36 small, soft cookies.
