German Potato soup

Ingredients
About 1 lb red potatos, Diced in 1" cubes1 med onion chopped2 cups dried Northern beans2 Cups diced Ham 6 Cups WaterSeason with Celery Salt, Black Pepper to taste
Directions
Put all ingredients in a pot and cook on low for 2-3 hours. This soup is very thick and eats more like a meal. You can always add more water.
If you really want to add some flavor, add a can or bottle of beer in place of water. It will only add a few more calories per serving.
