Cilantro Pico De Gallo

Ingredients
1/4 cup per serving=======================1 small onion, finely chopped1 cup very hot water2 28 oz cans petite diced tomatoes1/2 cup, packed, finely chopped cilantro1/4 cup lime juice1/4 tsp black pepper1/2 tsp garlic powder2 tsp red pepper sauce (original Tabasco)2 tsp jalapeno sauce (green Tabasco)
Directions
1---Rinse tomatoes until water runs clear and tomatoes are de-seeded. Drain; dry as much as possible without crushing tomatoes.
2---Chop onion and place in bowl with very hot water (or microwave onion and water for about 2 minutes). Set aside.
3---Chop cilantro finely. Gently stir in tomatoes until thoroughly mixed. Add juice, spices, and sauces and stir in.
4---Drain water from onion. Mix into salsa.

Serve warm, room temperature, or cold. A small or large can of tomato sauce may be added, if desired.
