Turkey porcupines

Ingredients
1 lb. ground turkey1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice1 onion, finely chopped1 Tbsp. olive oil1/2 tsp. salt1 tsp. pepper1 Tbsp. olive oil1 Tbsp. butter2 tsp. sugar1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves1 cup water2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
Directions
Cook onion in 1 Tbsp. olive oil until tender; let cool for 15 minutes. In large bowl, combine ground turkey, uncooked rice, cooked onion, salt and pepper and blend well. Shape into 16 meatballs.

In large skillet, heat olive oil and add meatballs. Brown carefully, turning gently to cook evenly. Sprinkle sugar, basil, and thyme over meatballs, then pour over water and the two cans of tomato sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 40-50 minutes until turkey is thoroughly cooked, stirring occasionally.
