Baked 5-Spice Tofu

½ Block Extra Firm Tofu (drained, frozen and then thawed; squeeze again to drain))1/3 cup Soy Sauce1 Tbs. Water1 Tbs. Maple Syrup or Pancake Syrup1 Tbs. Minced Ginger Root1 tsp. Curry Powder½ tsp. Chinese 5-Spice Powder
1. Cut tofu into cubes, ½ inch thick and place in 1 ½ qt. casserole dish.
2. In a small bowl whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over tofu. Marinate tofu as long as possible, stirring halfway through your marinating time to coat thoroughly.
3. Preheat oven to 350*. Cover the casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover, stir and bake another 20 minutes.
Serve with cooked rice and a baked or steamed spring roll.
