Savory Pork Stew

Ingredients
1 pound lean pork shoulder steaks1 cup chopped onions (about 1 large) 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves 1 teaspoon chopped fresh or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/2 cup water 2 cups 1-inch slices carrots (about 6 medium) 1 large green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces 3 cups halved mushrooms (about 8 ounces) 1/2 cup burgundy wine or other dry red wine 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
Directions
Trim fat from pork shoulder; cut into 1-inch cubes.

Spray 3-quart nonstick saucepan with nonstick cooking spray.

Cook and stir pork over medium heat until brown. Stir in onion, basil, rosemary, pepper and water. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer until pork is almost tender, about 1 hour. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.
