Recipe "Ground Beef" Base (.5 cup serving)

1 lb. lean ground beef1 lb. lean ground turkey1 cup Bob's Red Mill TVP (textured vegetable protein)Salt, pepper, other spices to taste
Reconstitute TVP according to label directions. Add spices, if desired.
Heat skillet. When hot, add ground turkey and ground beef. Brown. Add TVP.
This can be used in spaghetti, chili, or any recipe calling for ground beef. I usually divide it into 3 portions. Add spices or taco seasoning for tacos.
Makes 16 1/2 cup servings.
