Gluten-free, dairy-free Brownies

Ingredients
1 2/3 cups applesauce1 cup powdered sugar3 tablespoons cocoa powder1/4 teaspoon salt1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl until well blended. Spread in small baking dish and bake for 25-30 mins at 350 or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

    vanilla is made from vanilla bean, it has to be pure to be called vanlilla extract. there is no wheat, rye or barley in vanilla hence it is gluten free - 7/27/10

    i made this and it just didnt harden. Turned out more like a pudding than a brownie. if i make it again, i will definitely add something like an egg to harden it. Tasted more like chocolate applesauce than brownie. - 3/16/09
