ground turkey spaghetti

Ingredients
8 oz whole wheat spaghetti1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)1 can diced tomato1 can tomato paste1 cup chopped onions3 cloves minced garlic1 tbsp olive oil
Directions
sautee onions, garlic and olive oil until onions translucent. brown the ground turkey in the same pan. Once turkey is browned, add tomato paste and 1 can of water. Add diced tomatoes and any spices you want (oregano, thyme, italian seasoning is the way I do it). Add salt and pepper to taste, and can add red pepper flakes for a spicier version. let simmer for up to 1 hr.

in a separate pot, boil whole wheat or multigrain pasta until al dente (this recipe uses whole wheat pasta).

makes 4 servings, each 2 oz pasta with sauce.
