Marinara Sauce

Ingredients
2 large (28 oz) can of crushed tomatoes with herbs1 6 oz can tomato paste1 cup of apple sauce (natural)1/2 cup parmesan cheese1 tbsp. olive oil1 cup chopped onion2 cloves grlic4 tbsp. basil1/2 cup fresh parsley 1 tsp thymeblack pepper
Directions
Add chooped onion to olive oil, cook for 5 minutes, add garlic for 1 minute. Add tomato paster and i can off water to pan and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir often or it will burn.
Add 2 large cans of crished tomatoes and 1 large can of water.
Add 1 cup of apple sauce
Add spices plus pepper
Simmer for about 1 hour.
Add grated cheese
simmer and stir for about 1 1/2 hours.
Serve over your favorite pasta or use for eggplant parm
serves 6-10 depending on how long this simmers
