To Ordinary Me: Yeast requires sugar to produce the gases aka bubbles that make bread fluffy. Without it there is no action to make the bread rise. This recipe is already at the low end of sugar for bread recipes I wouldn't skimp on it anymore. - 2/1/11

I made bread for the first time using a bread machine with this recipe. I was unsure about using all purpose flour because I heard it would not rise. I added almost a 1/2 Cup extra flour. My bread did rise very very well. I also added a touch of cinnamon and tsp of molasses and it was so yummy! - 9/25/12

ON THE BREAD SINKING-Bakers actually weigh their flour. It can weigh less or more. I had to add more flour. The object is not to add too much flour. You just do not want the dough sticking to the sides of the dough maker. I made mini pizza's out of the dough. - 1/10/12

the bread flopped.. I am not sure why this is.. I used splenda, and maybe that did it.. if any of you have insights please let me know! I ate some of it, but it was dense and heavy because it flopped - 9/27/10

Keeper recipe. My bread machine broke - so ended up mixing in KitchenAid and letting in rise once and punching down and baking in loaf pan. Still turned out wonderful. - 4/29/10
