Ingredients
*Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 tbsp * Garlic, 4 cloves * Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped * Turkey, Ground turkey, 93% lean, 16 oz * Oregano, ground, 3 tbsp * Basil, 2 tbsp * Bay leaf, whole (remove before serving) * Parsley, dried, 1 tbsp *Hunt's Tomato Sauce, no salt added, 2 cup
Directions
heat onion and minced garlic in extra virgin olive oil until onions are nearly translucent.
add ground turkey to pan cover with seasoning and brown
add tomato sauce and heat thoroughly.

Serve over gluten free pasta.

I often add more italian seasoning, or more tomato sauce or paste. It just depends on taste.

Our family uses Spaghetti squash in stead of pasta- I'm sure this would be a great substitution for gluten free people as well. In fact we have our kids convinced that packages of spaghetti noodles are just dried spaghetti squash! (Now that they are reading I'm not sure how long this will last) - 6/19/09

On a gluten free note, not all ground turkey is gluten free. If you are a celiac, you need to be careful of the type you purchace. Some antibiotics that are used on animal meat contain gluten. - 12/15/08

I know this is a great pasta sauce recipe, because it's nearly identical to my own! The only difference is that I throw in some diced (fresh) Roma tomatoes. This was the first recipe in which I substituted ground turkey for ground beef, and it was the gateway to many more ground turkey recipes. - 7/15/08

My family and I like our sauce a little sweet, so I added a touch of splenda for sweetness. - 1/7/10

For the meat to be gluten free, Jennie-o ground Turkey is the only one i've read to be completely gluten free. All their products are GF. I also use spaghetti squash in place of noodles. So much better for you. - 3/8/12

Low sodium, low fat and yummy! I am looking at ground turkey in a new light. I did add a small can of tomato paste and additional seasoning (no sodium) to taste as suggested. This was easy to make and serve over noodles of choice. I'm going to try over a baked potato next time. - 2/24/08

I LOVE SPAGHETTI. This recipe was great. I like being able to make things instead of buying in a jar with all that sodium. Using the "no salt added" tomato sauce was great :) I made this and would make it again and again and again :) My DH love it too. - 8/6/07
