I never would have believed this was made with all whole wheat flour- it came out so fluffy and moist! I made a few ajdustments: I halved the margarine and added 1/8 cup applesauce, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 tsp cinnamon, and a handful of rolled oats. I will definitely be making this again. - 1/3/08

I love these. I changed margerine to applesauce. I also added the vanilla and cinnamon like others. I also added choc chips (1.5 oz.) It only changed to 115 cal and 1.9 g fat. I will definatley make these again. - 3/28/08

First time with the applesauce sub. WOW. Low cal, almost no fat, and I keep going back for more! I did add cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg for more flavor. Thank you! - 7/7/07

This is a great banana bread. My family loved it too. The only thing was that I put it in for an hour and took it out after 50 minutes and it was already done, a little overcooked. So I would recommend putting it in 40-45 minutes and checking it. Still delicious though! - 8/12/07

I made these as muffins - built in portion control! I made 12 muffins and baked for 23 minutes and they were great! I like things a little sweeter, so next time I am going to add another tbsp of splenda. Great way to use overripe bananas! - 8/19/07

I made two versions of this , one the original and the other with some nutmeg and cinnamon. The first I thought was really good until I made the later version. Really, Really good. I think I'll try it with some peanut butter as well. Well done, thank you for the recipe. - 1/25/08

Loved this! I've been meaning to make banana bread for a while- I think I was unconsciously waiting for this recipe! I also 1/2d the margarine (actually used butter) and added 1/8 c of applesauce, plus 1/2 c of milk chocolate chips. Also, I put it into 2 slightly smaller loaf pans for 24 servings - 1/9/08

This was very good, even with whole wheat flour. I would have never guessed it had whole wheat flour in the recipe. Very good flavor and I will be making this again real soon. - 7/9/09

I have a hard time slicing correctly. (There are only two slices in any loaf of bread-the left side and the right side).
I will make these into cupcakes instead. Thanks for the recipe as well. - 6/25/09

This was really good. I didnt have vanilla extract and I didn't use the splenda but substituted with cinnamon. It's killing me not to eat more than my serving size. I can't wait to make this again. - 2/23/08
  • CHARLINN
I made it!! So good! I used only half the butter and added 1/4 C. Pumkin Puree. I didn't have honey. It definatley would better with the honey. Next time I will follow the suggestions of adding cinnamon.

Thanks for sharing it was delish!! - 1/13/08
