1 onion, sliced into rings1 green pepper, cut into 1/4 inch pieces1 clove garlic, minced4 tomatoes, cut into quarters1 cup rice1 (8oz) can tomato sauce1 tsp worcestershire sauce1/2 tsp basil, crushed1 1/2 cups water1 lb extra lean ground beef
1. Combine the beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet on the stove. Cook on medium high heat, stirring constantly until the meat is browned. Drain off the grease and put the meat and vegetables in the slow cooker. Add the rice, tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, basil and water. Stir well. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

I was relally looking forward to this because I love ground beef. Not sure if I did something wrong but mine turned into a pile of mush. You could not even tell there was rice in it. it seemed a little bland so I added more spices. If I made it again I would cook rice and serve over the rice. - 4/27/09
