Flossie's Crunchy Bran Muffins

Ingredients
1/2 cup milk 2%1/2 cup cold water1 tbsp lemon juice1 tsp baking soda1 cup flour1/4 tsp salt1/2 cup applesauce1/4 cup Splenda brown sugar1 egg1 tbsp molasses1 cup wheat bran1/4 cup each raisins, dates, chopped walnuts
Directions
Combine milk, water, lemon juice and baking soda. Set aside.
Combine applesauce and brown sugar thoroughly. Add eggs. Beat well. Add milk mixture, then molasses and bran. Blend.
Stir in flour and salt mixture. Fold in fruits and nuts. Spoon into greased muffin cups (I use Pam spray) and bake at 375 degrees F for 20 mins.
