L.R. venison lentil soup

Ingredients
1 lb. bulk venison sausage ( I use homemade)2-2/3 cup chopped onions2 cups sliced carrots1 cup sliced celery1/2 cup diced sweet peppers1 tsp. crushed garlic1 qt. canned tomatoes1-1/2 cups lentils2 T. chicken bouillon powder2 qt. water1/2 tsp. black pepper1 T. basil1 tsp. salt
Directions
In a large kettle, brown sausage. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for 1 to 1-1/2 hours or until letils and vegetables are tender. Adjust seasoning to taste. Makes about 13 cups.
