1 c shredded coconut1 1/4 c urad dal (1/2 pound)1/3 c raisins2 t oil1 t fennel1 t garam masala1/2 t turmeric1 t onion seeds (kalonji)
Mix coconut and dal and cover with water. Cook over low flame until dal is soft. Add raisins. In separate small pan, fry spices in oil until brown and then add to dal and mix in.
