Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
1 lb split peas dry6 cups water1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon pepper1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Directions
Put all ingredients in a rice cooker or in a pot on the store and simmer until peas have cooked tender. This may take an hour or better.
Makes 12- 1/2 cup servings

    I added a dash of Bragg's Liquid Amino's, a tiny bit more salt and pepper, a Tbsp or maybe a little more of lemon juice, and a tsp or so of paprika. When served, I added a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a dash more paprika to look nice, and a couple large spoons of lowfat plain yogurt. Yum! - 10/19/09
