Homemade Biscuit Mix

Ingredients

5 cups flour1/4 cup sugar1/6 cup backing powder2 tsp salt1/2 pound shortening
In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.
Add shortening. Using a pastry cutter or 2 knives cut shortening into fine pieces mixing thoroughly with dry ingredients.
Knead dough slightly then form into a long roll. Cut dough approximately 1” think by 3” wide circles.
Place on a ungreased cookie sheet and place in a preheated oven of 450 ‘F for 10-15 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Makes 16 biscuits.
You can add variety or flavour to your biscuit by adding cinnamon, cheese, chives etc.
