Spicy Maple Baked Beans

Ingredients
1 t. vegetable oil1 medium onion, chopped8 oz. extra lean ham steak, trimmed and diced1 T minced garlic1/2 c. maple syrup1 T tomato paste1 T Worcestershire sauce1 T chili powder1/4 t. cayenne pepper3 (15 oz.) cans vegetarian baked beans1 T yellow mustardsalt and pepper to taste
Directions
Heat oil in large dutch oven oven. Add onion and cook until soft. Mix in ham and garlic, cook two more minutes. Add maple syrup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cayenne and beans. Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add mustard and season to taste with salt and pepper just before serving. Serves eight.
