Carmelized Figs with Port - Balsamic glaze

Ingredients
2 figs1 TB unsalted butter1 1/2 TB imported balsamic vinegar2 TB port wine (or other sweet red wine) 1 TB water1 turn of fresh cracked black pepper
Directions
Wash & dry figs. Cut in half. In a regular saute pan (not non stick) melt butter and saute figs over medium heat, cut side down, until they become carmelized.

Remove figs and set aside. Reduce heat and Immediately add vinegar, port, water and black pepper. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until sauce thickens. Spoon sauce over figs and serve immediately.

Options: A tablespoon or creme fraiche or small quenelle of vanilla ice cream.
