Ingredients
Onions, raw, 1 small Tomato Paste, 1 can (6 oz) Salt, 1 tsp Oregano, ground, 1 tsp Water, tap, 1 cup (8 fl oz) Basil, .1/4 tspRed Ripe Tomatoes, 3 cup, chopped or sliced Granulated Sugar, 1 tsp bay leaf
Directions
In a large fry pan over medium low heat stir fry onion in a couple teaspoons of water until soft. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low for at least 1/2 hour to allow flavors to meld, stirring occasionally. (or longer if you have time) I added 1 cup of shitake mushrooms for something different and this adds only 1.8 calories per serving extra. Be creative, zucchini could be fun!

I am sooooo picky about my spaghetti sauce. I like plain, simple tomato sauce and this is exactly that. BEST SAUCE I'VE EVER TASTED. I will never buy jar sauce again. THANKS!! - 9/3/12

This will now be my "go to" recipe for homemade spaghetti sauce! It was wonderful and since we like garlic, I added 2 minced cloves. You can also incorporate 1# of 96% lean ground beef for a very satisfying meal with whole wheat pasta. Definitely a KEEPER!!! - 6/22/11
