Ingredients
8 Delicious apples, Peeled, cored and sliced2 to 4 whole cloves1/4 cup chopped walnuts1 1/2 Tablespoons of plain low-fat yogurt3 Tablespoons sugar1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon8 sheets of phyllo dough2 Tablespoons margarine, melted1 egg
Directions
* Steam apple slices over boiling water containing 2 to 4 whole cloves for 5 to 8 minutes. Drain apples, spread on a cookie sheet, cool in refrigerator for about 10 minutes.

* Combine cooled apples with walnuts, yogurt, sugar and cinnamon. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

* Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Brush the surface of a nonporous surface(such as formica) with margarine using a pastry brush. Place 4 sheets of phyllo dough on the surface to form a rectangle, overlapping pieces by about 4 inches in the center. Lightly brush dough again with margarine.

* Spread half of the apple mixture over the dough, leaving an inch on all 4 sides. With scissors or a knife, make diagonal slashes about 1/2 inch deep and wide. Carefully, tuck in the ends and starting at one end fold the side strips
over each other in a woven manner. Brush with well beaten egg added to remaining margarine to seal and help with browning.

* Repeat assembly procedure with remaining 4 sheets of phyllo and apple mixture.Transfer both strudels to a cookie sheet, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake until golden brown, about 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature. Makes 10-one inch servings.
